Steve is doing the old, "I know something that you don't know but I'm not going to tell you. Now you know that I know." I never understand that type of post or personality type. Just keep your mouth shut or just say something simple like, "We won't know anything more tonight."

Because he is too classy to tell you but he is not too classy to tell you he knows something that if he posted would be unclassy

They want you to know that they’re important and connected. They may not even know anything.
People on the radio do that all the time. “I’ve heard details but I can’t say anything right now”
