Agreed, if you’re a starter at Bama why on earth would you transfer? Only thing I could even possibly imagine is home sick, which seems kind of soft. Remember that happened to Marcel Brooks at LSU and I haven’t heard of him since.

I had a VERY high-profile former LSU player (rhymes with Canspew Hitforth)explain it to me back around 2010 or during an NFL off-week LSU tailgate with his agent. He said Little Nick is the ultimate tyrant but it's worth it because he'll show you how to win a championship. But when you are losing (he was referring to the 2002 and 2004 season) he's unbearable. Now we all know he's mellowed but I'm guessing Tiny Nick was pretty surly this year. Can't be fun if you are the target. And kids now have no incentive to stay.

Cohen was losing his job to Booker this year but would’ve been in competition for the other spot if/when Ekiyor declared.
There is no guarantee he was starting next year.
