I hate to do this because it's kind of tin foil hat but I was thinking...

Sexton organized this whole thing. Sexton wants Freeze back in the SEC because it's a big payday for both of them (Freeze and Sexton) so how do you maximize Sexton's payday? Simple steps below.

(1) Dangle Kiffin and use that to get a pay bump for him at OM along with increased NIL etc. - I think the leaks were a big wrinkle in the plan and created a distraction for Kiffin which frustrated him. He just wanted to get a nice OM paybump
(2) Then make the demands to Auburn egregious so we have to say no
(3) Hey - sorry that didn't work out... Freeze could be available! How about a big paybump for him/me?!

Of course it will never happen, but it would be awesome if schools just started refusing to deal with Sexton. He is such a leech.

Been mentioned throughout the last month. Regardless of plan or not, it’s a win-win for Sexton

Quit making Sexton the boogie man.

He’s the agent for every coach but somehow only does his weird tricks on Auburn. Funny how that works.

He’s a good agent but y’all give him way too much credit.

We did with Chizik after he and Tubs burned us. I believe he was his agent and had to dump him.

Harsin was also with another agent, but he worked his tricks on us too.

Thanks Weagle.

Last I looked Sexton never put a gun to anyone's head.

And this theory kind of goes out the window when Kiffin already had his reup sitting on his desk.

So we are to believe he had the contract there and instead of signing it he decided to screw around on Twitter just to keep his agent happy......and piss off the team and school he was going to continue to work for?

Tell the truth when some of you go to bed do you check to see if Jimmy is under it

To be clear here nobody thinks he's doing something illegal "putting guns to heads" or whatever nonsense. Conversation is simple as.
JS: Hey Lane you've won a bunch of games and are underpaid + have a short contract with not enough guaranteed. I want to float your name for the Auburn opening. Give it some thought and you could go with the AU job or we could leverage it for more money and better terms from OM.
Lane: Sounds good man thanks.

Not just Auburn... you think OM enjoys how this all went down?

It absolutely does not. Having an offer from Auburn and an extension from OM sitting there while executing neither gives him optionality + negotiating leverage and creates competitive tension for the bidders. This is negotiations 101.

Sexton representing multiple clients means he has information about both potential deals and can leverage that. It's rife with potential conflicts as well.

How are the state legislatures OK with this guy playing all sides, at the expense of numerous state schools?

In just about every job I’m familiar with you couldn’t have a conflict of interest like this.
