Thankfully we can do better than him, and anyone who doesn’t want to be here, right?

My point is that there are certainly worse people than briles who want to be here.

Nothing I've seen from briles indicates he doesn't want to be here. He got an opportunity to return to Texas and work with family friends. Even if you want to be here that's hard to pass up. Unless we're only gonna hire people who are life long razorback.

Take my career in IT. I currently work at a great company who I'm not really interested in leaving. I still listen to ovations from recruiters that interest me or demonstrate where i can make more money. It doesn't mean i don't wanna work at my current company it just means it's a competitive job market and i need to stay on top of what I'm worth and what opportunities i have in it.

You’re ignoring or dismissing the entire Mississippi State episode. A division rival apparently was a serious consideration. So you get concessions in the form of your contract being re-structured, and the title of associate head coach. In response, damn near immediately you are playing footsie with TCU. Sorry, I just don’t see it as a stretch for his bosses to think he didn’t want to be here.

I have a similar situation in my field. But I don’t take my boss’ competitors overtures for more money or higher status and use it as leverage and a passive aggressive ultimatum for more concessions from my boss. It might fly once, maybe even twice in my career. If I pull it twice in one month? He’s going to say you probably should take that opportunity.
