Looking for a good tent

My son goes to camp in North Carolina for all of June every year, and we'd like to get him a tent for Christmas. I've just started a basic search and i'm not finding good reviewed tents for under $100.
Came across this marmot tent that's on sale and, based off the reviews, seems pretty solid. LINK
But definitely looking for other suggestions. Don't want to go above $150, if I can. help it. tia

Rakuten has 15% cash back at backcountry. I don't think you will find anything solid under $150.

Marmot is a quality brand. Is he just camping or backpacking?

What did he sleep in last summer?

I got a Eureka two person tent from Dick’s Sporting Goods that is a great bang for the buck and easy to get in and out solo.

I have a Eureka Suma 2. It's on Amazon for $153.
Solid tent. It's a full pound less than the Marmot you linked. Not that that's the end of the world or anything.
Prices go up significantly when you try to get below the 3.5 pound range.

I always just buy whatever looks good at the time on Sierra Trading Post:

I bought a 2 person Kelty at a consignment store in 2017. Have been using the piss out of it. They run 100 to 150 new.

Alps brand are great. Find a Boy Scout and you can get a huge discount.

I have the previous version of this tent, the marmot limelight 2p. Had it for 10 years and it’s been great.

This is coming from a backpacker. Don’t buy him a tent, give him money and let him pick the tent. If you are dead set on it talk to him and get a better idea of the weight he wants.
If you are dead set on a tent MSR Hubba or Hennessy Hammock might be a good option.
If you have a 100-150 budget maybe look at cooking systems or sleeping pads, trail runners, etc
