That ole miss fans are trying to claim Kiffin to AU would be a lateral move and that it won’t happen Bc of that reason. There is a huge disparity between the two in reality with AU being vastly superior

It’s been eye opening to see how disillusioned OM is. They really don’t realize that they are at best a mid-tier program in the conference. They are using the past two years as the lone sample size for comparing the programs.

They've got one poster who keeps tweeting that this was all Lane's plan to feign interest In the AU job to drive up contributions to OM's NIL.

OM and a lot of other fanbases calling AU a lateral move is moronic. Auburn is a top 12 program (and you might be able to argue it’s no. 10).
I’m basing this on all time wins (below). You could argue Auburn is currently in a better position than Nebraska and maybe Texas.
Add our Heisman winners, national + SEC titles, traditions, high-profile alums, new FoF and more, we are superior to Ole Miss (and all but 5 other SEC schools).
The biggest issue is perception of boosters whether accurate or not as meddling in the program. However, it seems like we finally have an admin (Roberts, Cohen and McGlynn) pulling in same direction and if boosters want Lane, then this could be a new era for our football program.

That’s what I want in a program if I’m a HC. Who wouldn’t want to be at a school that was so lethargic about the sport you coach that you had to make them think you were leaving (for a superior school) just to get them to show a modicum of support?

OM fans are confusing the terms team which is current state to program which is a long term view. They have a better team but the programs are pretty far apart

OM hasn't won the SEC since 1963. OM is the only team in the west to have never made it to the SECCG. AU is 13th in all-time wins, while Ole Miss is 43rd.
OM does claim 3 national titles in 1959, 1960 and 1962. However, none of them were awarded by the AP. AU has two undisputed national titles, one awarded by AP and the other won in the BCS. And I think AU could very fairly claim 2 more (83 and 04).
AU ranked 6th in TV viewership last season. Ole Miss was 20th.

If we are going the scumbag route let’s spend the money and get a proven scumbag with Urban.
I’d rather take a gamble on Caddy that this Lane Train charlatan.

Honestly the only two fan-bases I’ve see latch onto that are the Ole Miss fans and surprisingly (or not), UGA fans.

I’ve seen LSU and Alabama saying it too. Whether they believe it or just trolling I couldn’t tell you.
