Selection order:

1 - Undefeated P5's
2 - 1-loss P5 champs
3 - 1-loss P5 non-champs/2-loss P5 champs/undefeated G5's.

So...if LSU wins the SEC CG and USC, UNC/Clemson and TCU win out. I guess they could justify having:

OSU/Michigan winner (Undefeated P5)
TCU (Undefeated P5)
USC (1-loss P5 Champ)
UNC/Clemson (1-loss P5 Champ)

In theory, they could lock Georgia out as a 1-loss P5 non-champ. It would be crazy to see them justifying a 1-loss USC, UNC or Clemson over UGA...but they would be P5 champs. Now...if that were to happen, it would seriously undermine the process and would lead the way for more support for an expanded playoff...which may be what they are trying to get, anyway.

I doubt they set such a precedent. They would treat uga 2022 as they did uga 2021 imo.
