Any local attorneys have updates?
Last I read there was a motion to dismiss pending based on rape kit being negative (that likely won’t go anywhere).
Looks like maybe a calendar call 11/21.

Don’t think it has standing to get dismissed over rape kit. It certainly hurts the prosecutions case.
Remember, under GA law all that actually has to be proven was they had sex and she was knowingly intoxicated. You can’t consent while drunk.
My guess is text messages post/pre event will be the big evidence.

In this case, almost every sexual encounter that I ever had in my 10's and 20's was not consenusal.

In some States it is the exact opposite. Yes, most of our college sex would technically be rape now.
It doesn’t even matter if they tell you they want it. They still can’t consent.
Need some handsome young man to get drunk and have sex with a sober big girl then claim rape (which it would be if she knew he was drunk). Maybe then they will change the laws.

Agreed. Accusations like this, if unfounded, can irreparably harm a person for many, many years.

Unfounded? A grand jury Indicted him. You all think if the case gets dismissed, he should be able to sue her???
You all are sick. Imagine the damage it would do to girls that get raped and would be to scared to come forward because no one might believe her and then she gets sued…..
BTW - I was the foreman of a rape trial a few years back. Lasted 5 days. It was a tough trial, mentally and emotionallY. I learned a lot on that jury that I never knew….including:

You can be Intoxicated and having sex can be considered rape (not entirely tho)
There is no degrees of rape in GA
Penalty is a minimum of 25 years and you can be sentenced to death as well
Sodomy is any oral sex, not just butt stuff like most people think
