Are you aware of how liberal Clarke County is? It's plagued with such wonderful characters such as the carpetbagging elitists and pseudo-intellectual children who mostly major in gender studies or some shite and pontificate about how terrible "hicks" are and many of them regurgitate the old adage of "Dems for the poor" while simultaneously taking a sip on their overpriced Starbucks coffee while walking by a homeless man slouched diagonally from the Arch to class and perhaps something similar as they walk to their gentrified home in the Iron Triangle.

Athens-Clarke is a a blue enclave comprising of residents who are as snotty as Micheal Stipe at an art show advertised in the Flagpole events section and they're surrounded by red counties and they know it, so that's why they adopt bike lanes to annoy the fine red county people who come in town for work or play...that last part is my own theory anyway, ha.
