Tennessee's ranking is justified based on their resume'/strength of schedule.

Tennessee has played at home all season basically. They went to OT against a now unranked Pitt.

They beat Bama at home by last second field goal. Took 17 penalties and a hobbled Bryce to beat them

They beat Florida at home by 5…..
Tennessee has 2 wins against the committees top 25

NOW:
UGA beat Oregon, current top 10 team, 49-3, not at home. Oregon has a win over a current top 12 team

UGA demolished Florida, winning by 22, in Florida!

It’s funny you say resume/eye test, when UTI has 3 close wins OT,5,3

I don’t really care if we are 1 or 3 or 5, we will beat the shite out of Tennessee and be #1 when it matters. I just think it’s ridiculous to act like UT has beat everyone by 50 and we’ve scrapped by all season

Upvote, I hope you are correct.
I think the committee considers how teams have developed over the season.
Tennessee blew out LSU at Baton Rouge and LSU is looking like a much-improved team.

They beat Pitt and Florida on the road, Pitt in OT.

The win vs Florida at home was not impressive and since we beat Florida easily by 22, I am hopeful that this comparison bodes well for our team.

They of course beat #1 Alabama at home but objectively the game could have gone either way.

But I think the blow out over #19 Kentucky is probably what swayed the committee in the end.

Regarding our ranking, I think the committee is probably factoring our injuries into the equation and without our stellar defense from last season, I think they might question Bennett's ability to match the Tennessee offense with Hooker at the helm.

It' going to be an interesting game.
I'm hoping that Bennett will have the best game of his career making good reads, accurate passes and running when the opportunity presents itself.

I'm a little glad Tennessee is ranked #1. That squeaker of a win against Bama is the difference-maker in the eyes of the Committee, and as stated above UT needed an uncharacteristically poor performance from Bama just to get that.

Let's see how they handle the weight of the scrutiny as they head into Athens as the underdog by more than a TD.

Remember - Moo State was the very first CFP Week 1 #1 back in 2014.
