Why did UF wait until TP died to start really driving that train? I don't recall UF and tom petty ever being linked when he was alive aside from just "he spent some time there" , but after his death its' like UF has completely gone 100% all in on the tom petty connection. Why did they not celebrate him as much while alive? Or did they and I just wasn't paying attention ?

Of all the people who give a shite, why would Georgia fans, who never step foot on the UF campus? Yes you are trolling because people do shite like this all the time. You have plenty of bands who hail from Athens, so this is a really weird sour grapes type of post. We have celebrated Petty in the past along with Jimmy Buffett, Bo Diddley and others. Not sure why you care who we celebrate. Are you worried that Gainesville is going to surpass Athens as the hipster hub of the south or something? I think you guys will be OK.
