Who knew that he had to suck so bad in the NFL that he'd get his chance.

He didn't exactly suck. 9-7. The Dolphins haven't seen those days since. Took a PAY CUT to come to Alabama. There are 2 or 3 schools that MAYBE can do that. The almighty USC trojans couldn't hang on to Pete (in fairness severe sanctions were coming), the almighty Miami Hurricanes couldn't hang on to Jimmy Johnson and in 1970 the Miami Dolphins threw the world at Bear Bryant. Largest contract in NFL history at the time, would buy his house, take care of all his expenses and have full control of the team and said, nah. Maybe the benchmark of all NFL teams in the New York Giants had a 12 mill a year offer on the table, the Longhorns had a 10 mill contract on the table and he said nah.

But the comment tonight regarding his time at LSU, when all LSU fans told us he begged for his job back and to come find out he was standing on their sideline that he looked across that field and said that would be a great job.....when Bama was at its lowest level....DAYUM.

Yep, Dolphins still hate Saban for leaving. Sort of debunks the suck theory.
