It’s been a busy week haven’t heard much but isn’t he supposed to be coming back this week heard Blaylock should relieve some aches being 100 percent

Nobody is 100% including our ace in the hole, it's going to be a long season. No reason to lose to anyone on our schedule but don't expect blowouts. JD predicted the kuntbase would expect blowouts in every game and be angry if we didn't. The anger is building, and JD will be right again.

I’m just hoping the oline can for the love of god get us in the end zone on red zone downs

I think it has more to do with not having Zeus and Cook. Stet can sling it around, but the field becomes smaller in the red zone and his options are limited. Our running game isn't all that great this year and we have to settle for FGs. The O line has some issues, but the greater concern at RB. Same thing happened to Bama in the nattie last year.

We are only 1 behind 1st in conference in rushing TDs from the redzone this season (technically tied for 3rd in conference).
We are very dangerous running in the red zone. Especially in 22 and 32 personnel.
There is creativity to the offense, but this notion that our run game isn't great is false.

Sounds like he's still hurt. Don't think he's practiced this week.

Sure, we have a lot of red zone TDs but I think that's misleading. We've had 31 red zone trips which is 6 more than the next team. We also have 11 FGs which also leads the league. Our TD % has us at 10th in the league. A better run game would mean a higher TD %.

Or that Stetson needs to throw better in the redzone.
You kind of missed the other half of the offensive equation.
We have 55 runs in the redzone and 14 TDs (10 more first downs). These run attempts includes sacks by Mizzou in the red zone).
We have 37 pass attempts in the redzone with 5 TDs and 7 first downs. 51% completion percentage.
If you are looking at the entire picture, the problem isn't the running game at all. I'd be curious to see what our success rate is running in the red zone.
Edit to add cfbstats SEC passing offenses in redzone qb efficiency rating.
UGA is 12th in QB efficiency
LINK
1st in pass attempts and 5th in TDs
13th in completion percentage.

I gave you the team stats for red zone passing.
Stetson is 30 pass attempts with 4 TDs and 6 first downs.
53.3% completion percentage
Virtually the same stats. But if I'm calling him out for an opportunity to be better, then I should show his numbers.

Also, the red zone is a lot more crowded making for more contested throws....

Of course.
But 6 teams have a completion percentage 60% or better (even Florida is over 70%)
And efficiency numbers get inflated with the opportunity for TDs and first downs. 8 teams have an efficiency rating of 162 or better.
Vandy's efficiency rating is 260.

Which is why you tell Bowers and Big 0 to run into the end zone, turn around and reach up.

Usually Washington has to stay in and block because of the shitty O line
Posted on 10/7/22 at 8:40 am to Spaceman Spiff
You really think the OL is shitty?

the way searels has it working leaves a lot to be desired

I think it is too early to make that call.
We are 5th in the country in total yards per game (521.4). A lot of that credit goes to the OL.
We are 5th in the country in rushing TDs from the red zone. A lot of that credit goes to the OL.
We are 12th in the country in sacks allowed. A lot of that credit goes to the OL (3 of those teams are academy and another is GA Southern). We are 26th in the country in pass attempts.
Personally, I think fans focus on one thing and blow it way out of proportion to the big picture.
But to each their own. Some people love narratives. There is a reason Mike Griffith has a job at the largest newspaper in the state covering UGA football.

Is there anything specific that Searles is doing to leave a lot to be desired?
Posted on 10/7/22 at 10:20 am to meansonny
Better, tell us how great he has the Oline working.
Posted on 10/7/22 at 11:13 am to Spaceman Spiff
We are who we are.
5-0
Top 5 offense in many metrics.
What does Searles leave to be desired?
You either have an unfounded agenda that you proudly continue against Searles.
Or you have specific issues with his coaching and his OL room.
I'm fine with either answer, and I'm allowing you to share your side.
This isn't a bad topic. Flesh it out.
