He's a "Redshirt Freshman" because of COVID technicality. I don't see exactly what you're trying to prove here: Bo Nix was a member of the 2019 HS class, while Ashford was a member of the 2020 HS class. They are literally one year apart.
The reason why Ashford has so much eligibility left is because he couldn't get onto the field at Oregon and the COVID situation allowed him to pause his eligibility status. When you say "one guy is a Senior, the other is a Redshirt Freshman" you are skewing the meaning of those words and terms to tell the story that you want to tell.
Robby Ashford is not a "young" QB. He is inexperienced, but that is largely because he just wasn't good enough to play. By actual seniority, he is a Junior. He is from the same HS class as TJ Finley...who is a Junior.

He has major accuracy problems. Doesn't help his coach is an idiot. When LSU could not pass, they just ran their QB. Shocking adjustment I know, but it appears Kelly is interested in winning the game.
