If they suck again this week (most likely), can we please just play the younger guys who will be the starters next year (Mitchell Walters, Armond Membou, EJ Ndoma-Ogar who looked good last year when filling in for injuries). Lets just get them live reps and starting experience this season and they can use it as a learning curve and building blocks for next year. Better than hoping they just figure it out at the start of next year.

He should already know who his best 5 are.

Maybe it’s just coach speak, but if it isn’t…that’s concerning.

Matter had a pretty good answer to this.

its a lose lose for a coach...

"This is a case where the coach can't win. Gets crushed for sticking with something that doesn't work. Gets crushed for admitting they need to re-assess & adjust."

-- While it sucks, I'd rather the revaluation more than being stubborn with your original decision . A knock on drink that a lot of fans have felt is that he sticks with the same thing, even if its not working.

25% of season gone and Drink doesn't know his team???????? Nothing like telling the world that I'm a flippin' rookie HC. The Jimmy & Joes on the OL are known and help did not come after the bowl game against Army. All on the rookie guy cashing the big check.

Maybe scheme like ex-OC Heupel did using tempo??? Can Drink even coach it??? I have my doubts.

Right.

I’ll also add that sometimes players look better/worse in practice than in games.

Ogar and Walters are certainly more physically imposing than the guards we’ve been running out thus far.

Right, and this stuff happens. Its a good thing to have a coach willing to do this.

I'm all for it. This OL play is just bad. We will get smashed against any SEC team not named Vanderbilt if they can't block better as a unit.

Drink says if hyrin plays, it won’t be till late October. Sounds like we should at least get him for final 4 games if they decide to not play him then.
