Frac the world

You make fun here frackie with your James Carey gif, but it doesn't make clear where it's measured from. Is it measured in the same way we measure rushing yards, passing yards, etc, from the LOS to the yardage marker where the catch is made.

Is it measured from where the QB is standing to where the WR catches it on the field. Does it include 9 plus yards on a catch in the back of the EZ?

While the stat likely is true in that BY is far behind the other SEC QBs in that department and was near the top last year, it may not be exactly true. The TD pass to Gibbs the LOS is at the 7, he's well behind it at about the 16. Gibbs is at least 7, possibly 8 yards deep in the EZ.

Is that a 7-yard air yard pass?

A 15-yard air yard pass?

Or a 24-yard air yard pass?

Based on what Rodgers says, looks like it starts with the LOS and they don't get credit for anything past the goal line.

It is a simple measurement of yards from the LOS to the yard marker where the target was when the ball arrived.

With that being said, I'm unsure if yards in the end zone are counted.

Here is Young's passing chart from 2022 for illustration:
