IMHO, this is what we need to do to be successful...
1. Drink cannot call any plays that require sideways throws. They haven't worked in 2 years, unless you count when Burden bailed him out last night for the TD.
2. Half of every series needs to be 1st and Bannister for 5 yards. No one can stop him and it's a simple throw.
3. Peat is the starting RB.
4. Send Hopper on a blitz on 3rd and longs. Protect the safeties on long routes by not giving the QB time.
5. Promote the bagman that secured the Hopper boys. That was nice work.
6. Run more QB read/option. Cook is good at that.
7. DC gets a raise and whatever else he wants.
8. Someone burn the trick play book.
9. Book the bowl game.

The defense looked good last night. They are definitely better than the last few years. Hopper is good and the LB’s looked solid. The secondary could be pretty good. They are good athletes and read the ball good last night.
The secondary messed up a few times lining up out of position and missing some tackles. On the long TD it looked like we were in a 4-3-4 zone and the DB didn’t check the WR at the line and he was able to run full speed and get behind the safeties.
The problems the secondary made lining up out of position and not checking the WR can be fixed in film and walking through the plays in practice.
The biggest problem the defense will have is the front 4 in conference play.
