Not as much as having the “GrEaTeSt SeAsOn oF aLL TiMe” trumped the very next year. Couldn’t even hold on to the “greatest offense of all time” title. That must suck.

Did give up 38 to Texas. A big road win when Texas was ranked 9th early in the season. Texas scored a garbage time TD.
Gave up 24 to Vandy and scored 66. Vandy had a pick six in garbage time and a fumble recovery in the end zone for 14.
Gave up 37 to Ole Miss and beat them by 3 touchdowns.
Beat Auburn by 3, by far LSUs sloppiest game. Threw a pick in the end zone, went for it on the goaline and got stopped, just a weird game and par for the course or Auburn-LSU.
Beat Bama by 5. Bama scored a garbage TD on a Hail Mary where Smith burnt stingley, LSU then ran over them and kneeled it out.
Also have to realize in the last 4 games the defense improved and they completely obliterated 3 top 5 teams.
