The southern part of Missouri grows cotton. They grew more cotton than Alabama or Tennessee in 2021.

Missouri was a star on the Confederate Flag.

Traditional and conservative state. More so than Georgia now.

And they wanted to join us. That counts for a lot.

They hate KU which dates back to the War of Northern Aggression.

Southeastern Missouri is part of the south. It was settled from Tennessee and Kentucky by Scots-Irish.

Southwest Missouri has a more western feel as you get into the Ozarks. It has a more in common (unsurprisingly) with Eastern Oklahoma and Northwestern Arkansas than it has with Southeast Missouri.

Central and Northern Missouri, settled more by Germans and from the Midwest are more like the rest of the Midwest.

Missouri, like many states, has varied identities.
It is part southern and part other things.
