I do not know the real answer. I think Mark would have been in the '78 class out of HS. No doubt we whiffed.
That said, we had a pretty good receiver corps in Carlos Carson, Tracy Porter, Lionel Wallis, and Orlando McDaniel.
Some potential reasons (not saying any of these were 'it'):
- Grades
- Height (he wasn't tall)
- Maybe he improved a lot after HS.
- Something as petty as our recruiter for his area didn't like his HS coach

Carlos Carson was from John I Leonard High School here in Palm Beach County.
One of the cool things about Duper was he was still rocking the old style face mask into the 90s.
