Back when John Shourholtz and Bobby Cox were running the Braves, I remember them totally avoiding college pitchers at draft time because most college programs didn't have the know-how on their staffs and/or the resources to not abuse the arms of their best pitchers. Not saying that's the case with Bama's staff, but you can't argue with the Braves' success with their pitching staff during that era.
