You act like Baton Rouge, College Station, Starkville, Gainsville, Tuscaloosa, Auburn, or Knoxville are tourist destinations. They aren't...but those of us that went to University at these places love them...and love going back for sporting events. People that went to school in Norman love it...for the same irrational reasons that we all love our college towns. There are reasons to oppose the addition of OU...television markets, travel times, etc., but the notion that there isn't enough history or tourism in the state for them to be added to the SEC is nonsense.

Fans of traditional SEC schools enjoy trips to other SEC towns because of the history and nostalgia, so you may be onto something regarding Norman.

I don’t really know what kind of “tv market” OK brings, hell we may as well invite Kansas State next.

Well, Norman is part of the OKC Designated Market Area (DMA) for TV.

It ranks 44th in the country and has 755,340 TV Households. Are there any SEC DMA markets bigger.

Here’s the listing:

DMA Markets

Austin is 38th at 912,400.

Look through the listing and tell me which DMA markets are bigger in SEC.
