Interestingly enough, he would have been the head coach at Arkansas if the Japs had not bombed Pearl Harbor. So in a way, Bama can thank Tojo for that one.

Coach Bryant had to leave Arkansas to become the legend that he is. Why is that?

He would eventually leave as Arkansas was a bad program at that time and it doesn't help that he wasn't an alumni.
