He’s had good success at Murray. And the city of murray doesn’t exactly have much to offer when it comes to college basketball players. Just comes down to whether or not he can recruit at the power 5 level. You don’t know until you know

No doubt the Ag fans will be scrutinizing the LSU very closely.

Murray St has had 7 coaches before McMahon going to the early 80s.

Mick Cronin was very successful after leaving Murray St. Mark Gottfried somewhat successful. Steve Prohm, Tevester Anderson, Scott Edgar, Ron Greene and Steve Newton not so much.

Funny thing is that all 8 of these guys had close to the same level of success at Murray St.

True, but he's also been to more tournaments that the last few.

Billy Kennedy was there 5 seasons and only went to the tournament once.

Steve Prohm was there 4 years and only went once.

McMahon was there 7 years and went three times.

His first two years were rough (17-14 and 16-17). Hopefully this can be attributed to his first head coaching gig and trying to figure things out. If you remove those two seasons he's 121-36 or 77%, which is almost exactly the same as Steve Prohm (78%) and better than Billy Kennedy (67%).
