Why so many empty seats in these games?

I always remember these NCAA tournaments packed

Seems pretty normal for first and second round games

Most venues are far away from both fanbases obviously

It’s normal for first and second round games. Tickets are split between 8 fanbases and distributed throughout the lower bowl into four sections. Four games in one day are divided into 2 sessions each, which should help get people in the seats for TV viewers. It also depends on location. When KU opens in Kansas City, or Duke and Carolina play in their state, it’ll be full.

We can’t blame Auburn fans for not knowing how March Madness works, they arent typically watching basketball at this point in the season.
