Too many people failed to advance from the prelims to contend.
The NC went to Texas, coached by former Hog NCAA triple jump champion Edrick Floréal, with 47 points. He was HC at Kentucky before Texas hired him a couple years ago.

The more excuses we make the further the track program continues to slide. This is like what happened post Nolan Richardson Era, didn't nothing for decades.

He was a Jeff Long hire. I don't expect the results that John did here but we have a sign outside the Fayetteville city limits that says track capital of the world.

Huge letdown.
We had so many top 10 and top 5 times coming into the meet. Finally seemed prime to get another one, but a major letdown across the board.

Women finish fourth as Florida ran away with the NC.
We won both relay races but not much else.
Texas 2nd, Kentucky 3rd and Ole Miss 5th.

Someone remind me, who was it we should have hired instead of Bucknam? I can't remember but I think I vaguely remember there being a better option

That's it! I remembered it was someone who coached with McDonnell for a long time but couldn't remember the name
