I have no idea if this guy is worth anything, all I do know is he donates a lot of money to Auburn. He’s at my in laws lake condo all week this week and he said that in Masons exit interview, Mason stated that Harsin was a racist.

Wouldn’t surprise me. White folk from up north are usually much more likely to be racist.

Would be fascinating to see what really happened between Harsin and Mason. Weren’t there rumors of conflict after Mississippi state? Would be interesting to see what exactly went down to end the year

Well if this is true it needed to be investigated & if true he needs to go!! The problem is I would think it might be hard to prove it to fire for cause?

They were friends who had went on vacations together in the past so how can he be a racist?

Well this to me created a huge problem. It’s one thing to say he’s abrasive or lazy or whatever, but when you start throwing out the racism charge, the bar raises significantly. If you find evidence to back up the claim, of course you fire him. The problem is that if you find no evidence to support the claim and fire him anyway, you really open yourself up to massive liability. He could sue auburn for all kinds of damages if you find no evidence of racism but hang the charge on his reputation by firing him.

A-ha, so that's what's going on. Not saying your source is right, but it definitely would make sense how this all blew up and why AU is taking it so seriously. If such a charge is what spurred this on, then I can't blame AU for investigating. (I do blame them for it turning into such a public circus, though).

Problem is I don't know how you prove someone's inner thoughts. You'd need good evidence like Harsin throwing around the "hard R" or something like that. I doubt even a real racist would be that dumb in today's age. And if Mason made the charge I hope he has good evidence. I do not see Harsin taking that sitting down if he is innocent.

The question I have is does Auburn fire him for cause over this? I mean they'd need very solid evidence of it. Not just a he said/she said type of deal, but they'd need multiple witnesses or, even better, something on tape or whatever.
