You need to ask Will Wade.

In the case of a college football program, Jimbo Fisher!

You need to ask Will Wade.
Wade has been consistently top 25/NCAA tournament, with usually at least one win. He took over a program where Johnny Jones had us about NIT level. Trent Johnson started with an NCAA team, and brought it down each year.
How much does a guy like Wade cost? You're talking a young guy with good success at a respectable mid-major. You don't want the old guy from there, he's probably set in his ways and not likely to work extra at a big program/conference. May not be able to adapt, etc.
When you get him, you have to commit enough to show you're serious, or he will hop to the next big program that offers more.
With SEC money, there's really no reason a strong football program can't also have a strong basketball (and baseball, for that matter) program too. Look at Wade, Oates, etc. They cost a drop in the bucket compared to football, and football is up to speed already.
