“I think there’s a different aura around Bama guys,” Hurts said on Tuesday, “and how we operate and where we come from and kind of the standard we have for ourselves and what we’ve been around. That’s a testament to a great winning culture at Alabama, coach (Nick) Saban and the foundation he’s laid for all of those athletes to come through. I think we just kind of try to lead by example.”

Here is the key to me. It's a mindset, work ethic and they trust and believe in their coach and his system.
He has built a winning culture at Alabama, and that is hard to beat.

Even after he decides to leave I expect Alabama to win for another 2-3 years until those deteriorate.....assuming it does at all. That will depend on who is brought in. But whoever it is, it won't be Nick Saban so there will have to be some kind of drop off. Just my opinion.

I was at ULM whenever Derrick Gore transferred over from Bama. You could tell immediately, that he was different than everybody else. Anytime he was at the football stadium, it was all business. He never clowned around, like many other ULM players did. It was refreshing to have someone with a work ethic like that around the program.

Didn’t really do much in the grand scheme of things, because one player can’t change the stuff that goes on there, but it made me respect Saban a whole lot more. That mindset will make you successful in not just football, but in life, and that’s what it’s really all about. Turned kids into responsible men. Gore is having a pretty good stint with the Chiefs right now too, especially with CEH being injured. Hard work always pays off in the end.
