Tons of people tried to warn us on Bobo and they were proven right.

We have a new OC coming in that has never been an OC, only a QB coach and Russ Wil has progressed, right?

ETA: Did Gus leave some sort of hex?

Sorry, I am all Harsin, but he pissed me off today with some coaching choices.

He was able to move the ball, but he had to know Finley couldn't answer the call. He said Davis is a gamer, so why not give him a chance. Frick I'm pissed over that. Even if DD sucked worse there was no reason to keep trotting Finley out without going to DD for some reps.

This. We've seen times were some guys aren't the best in practice but show up for games. No reason to not atleast see if Davis was one of those guys.

I couldn’t agree more. I was dead wrong on Hars and I can clearly admit it now that Bobo is gone

I do think D Mase is a fantastic DC and would be flat out elite if he only forgot the Prevent. All we were missing on D and they STILL balled out!

Sincere question here: What coaching choices other than not playing DD?

I admittedly watched probably 60% of the game while at the office and didn't see many bad calls other than (in my opinion) going for the first 4th down instead of taking the points.

I would argue there has to be a reason DD did not play. To our eyes, it seems obvious to put the kid out there when Finley continues to struggle. But you have to admit Harsin knew what talent at the QB position was at Boise and, to me, not putting DD out there is a profound statement. It's just hard because, for us, there's no way to know how truly bad DD is...

I don't think he ever intended on playing DD.

Early in the year against the two cupcakes, Loy got playing time over Davis. TJ couldn't fricking walk in the IB and stayed in. I'm not privy to the reasons Davis never got a shot, but it's obvious, to me anyway, he was not a part of any gameplan this entire year.

To keep calling plays TJ clearly proved he couldn't execute

My counter is TJ played so bad there was nothing to lose by giving DD some reps. Hell, he even said DD would get some leading up to the bowl game.

But we know how bad TJ is, let's just throw DD out and see. It may have been a failure, but we already had failure playing anyway.

I don’t really want to comment on coaching decisions but some strategic decisions are concerning.

Harsin fired his WR coach early in the season and then fired his OC right after the Iron Bowl loss. This is a major red flag and experienced coaches could be hesitant to work with him.

He ran off our legacy QB - which means that this could be a potential red flag to top transfer QBs in the portal.

Lack of OL recruiting continues

Harsin failed to sign top offensive talent this year (Clemons, Williams, likely Citizen, etc). Defensive recruiting is solid but we struggle to recruit top offensive talent despite having an offensive-minded HC… this is concerning.
