NIL deals cannot be used to sign athletes.Pointing out recent NIL deals with current players isn't.

Pointing out recent NIL deals helps recruiting precisely because it acts as an incentive for a recruit to sign with said school. The difference between "if you sign here, you'll get x dollars" and "a guy liked you signed here last year and he has gotten x dollars" is really just used to sidestep the rule against using NIL as an incentive.

Weight rooms will get a little less shiny - because who gives a frick how opulent the floor in that room is, when you can pay the kid directly ?

And that is all the shitting of bricks going on here. We've seen stadiums packed higher and brighter ... not because the demand is that damn strong to see the kids play ... but because stadium building, dorm building, and general brick and mortar spending has been used since the final product - the ball player - couldn't directly receive a check.

And coaches will stop getting ten million a year, soon. Because even I can buy a signing class that even I can coach to a national championship - for oh so much less.

Imagine the first team, that wishes they could get Saban for ten million a year - just settling on a two million a year coach with a five million a year roster.

And? It's exactly what I said.
And exactly why I pointed out what Jumbo said.

What part of this did you not get?

One is clearly against the rules the other one isn't.Not sure why there is a grey area here.
