Lafayette just north of Auburn has some beautiful homes as well.

Twickenham in downtown HSV actually has the largest collection of antebellum homes in the state. There are some absolutely breathtaking homes in this area.
Greek revival, antebellum, Queen Anne, gothic revival, Italianate, bungalow…all there.
