Is Nate Oates a choke artist?

2018-19: Oates leads Buffalo to a 32-4 record, #15 ranking, wins his conference regular season and tournament.... Bounced from the NCAAT in the round of 32 (meanwhile Auburn makes the Final Four on an all-time great tourney run)
2020-21: Oates feasts on the covid weakened SEC, leads Bama to their GOAT regular season, #5 ranking, SEC regular season and tournament champs, the top rated 2 seed in the NCAAT, with the easiest path the Final Four in the tourney.... Loses in the Sweet 16 to 11 seed UCLA
2021-22: Oates leads Bama to their GOAT regular season win over Gonzaga, survives a controversial win over another top 25 opponent, shows his true colors in the process, but doesn't matter bc Bama is back in the top 10 and the hype train is running so fast you'd think Casey Jones is driving... Immediately gets blown out by the worst coached team in NCAAMB, who came in on a 4 game losing streak (which included a loss to UGA)

I only know one thing about Nate Oats and that’s that he’s the toughest cool guy that ever cool guy’d when he escapes with a win by 2 points. And I think that’s pretty cool.

Nobody with a wife that big can come through in the clutch. He probably has self esteem issues that manifest themselves in his coaching.
