Could it be he is more hurt than we thought? Maybe surgery and rehab so he is ready at new school in spring? Just a guess but i could see it being the reason

Looks like that’s the case, seeing a couple places saying he had shoulder surgery and wasn’t playing in the game anyways.
Hope he heals up, hard for QBs to come back from that depending on what exactly they are fixing. Still remember how good Jerrod Johnson was and how different he was afterwards and getting replaced by Tannehill
