So who was Bennet covering? Menchie or Williams?

I’m as pissed as anyone and yes…would’ve loved to have had more points …but this game was lost on defense. We couldn’t get to Bryce and their guys were running loose in our backfield. They scored 41 pts.

Stetson was outmatched but so was everyone else not named Bowers.

God I hate Alabama.

The D trying to get home rushing 4 was a mistake. When we decided to try bringing the house in the 3rd and early 4th we got some stops. But getting to the red zone or awfully close on 3 straight possessions and not coming away with any points at all and then the pick 6 definitely didn’t do us any favors. Only good news is we now have our own game tape and they won’t be playing with nothing to lose next time.

I think we were playing zone and should have been playing man. Auburn had success in man coverage that bought the DL time to get to BY. BY also played out of his mind today. He probably won the HT tonight.

He threw 2 crucial picks and freaks out when Bowers isn’t open. He’s a one trick pony.

I thought that too and then chewed our zone up. But that said, how did we get to where we got zero sacks on Bryce?

The story is that we switched to zone this season to make up for losing three CBs to the NFL... Yeah, getting Kendrick in probably helped (though he struggled today too). But we were nowhere near the talent level at CB this year as last. Today we faced a high level QB with multiple, 5* type WRs.

There was also always the concern that we couldn't win a shootout if we had to. Not with Bennett and basically one great receiver (Bowers). Clearly Pickens isn't 100% and not sure what became of Burton and Rosemy...those two looked like budding stars late last season.
