All rivalry smack talk aside.....this is my favorite weekend.

Love the history between the two teams.
This weekend is gonna be a bit more than just a game for me. I lost my best friend a few months back and he was a DIEHARD LSU fan. I watched every game with him for over a decade before I moved away. Dude was an outstanding Cajun chef so I'll be making a big as hell pot of gumbo in his honor.

Always a great game to watch. I can't say the same for State vs. Bama, but I'm gonna miss not playing them every year. It fells like the "local" high school game and has that fall football feeling. Not having it just doesn't sit right with me. It'll be a shame when LSU/Ole Miss have a year where they don't play each other.

It's insane that two schools in the same conference are 80-ish miles away and WON'T be playing each other. Just dumb.
Also....I'm glad we won't be playing Bama next season.

I’ve had nothing but great experiences with Ole Miss fans. Good people that know how to have a good time.
Sorry for the loss of your friend, I’m sure he’ll be looking down on you making sure you didn’t put tomatoes in the gumbo.

Definitely. I've loved tailgating with LSU fans. My favorite experience was back in the late 90's....there was this group of LSU fans who started a tailgating blog with a bunch of pics and videos. There was one that showed an MSU dude trying to start some shite and one of the LSU women stood up to the guy and threated to beat the shite out of him until he ended up walking away. Me and my dad made it our mission to find them in the Grove(They set up in the Circle nearby) and had some beers with them(Well...I was like 13
). Just all around great people. I'd love to find the archive of that blog....it was fricking hilarious. quote:

We are going to lose some really nice yearly rivalries with the new system, granted we will get to play teams we usually see like twice a decade at best.
I won't lie, I'll miss playing LSU and Ole Miss every year. Even Moo State to a degree.
Still... if it gets us out of that damn contract to play in Dallas every year I'll happily abandon every rivalry we have going now.

Ole Miss LSU is classic SEC football.
One of the best uniform clashes too.

This, as of now, is only for 2024. The 2025 schedules have not even been discussed yet. I wouldn't bet against this game staying.
