So you admit poor judgement here, but you’ll take a hard stance on another guy you don’t agree with
My poor judgement: supporting the hire of a guy I didn't know, by people I didn't know, and had absolutely zero input on the decision

Freezus poor judgment: using a university-issued cell phone to arrange paid escort services for recruits in direct violation of NCAA regulations, plus interjecting himself unnecessarily in a contentious lawsuit between his current employer and a former employee

I'll admit to my poor judgement if you'll admit there are certainly significant degrees of difference between the two situations.

Yep. Will support until they prove they don’t earn it. I was a big supporter of Gus in 2013. By the end of 2014, it was obvious he needed to go.

No, support will vary with the hire. But I also believe the power brokers should have a lot of involvement. If the AD wants power, he also needs to be accountable. We'll know if the AD earned his keep on the hire, or if it was an easier way out.

Examples of support on scale of 1-10
Randoms first -
Gundy - 5
Franklin - 6
Dykes - 8
Grimes - 9
Aranda, Fickell - easy 10

Kiffin, Freeze, Lanning, Sanders - easy 10

I've seen too many ADs make dumb easy hires, and no, they do not know any better than knowledgeable fans.

Looks right. Forgive my ignorance, but who's Franklin?

This reasoning seems to presume that Hugh Freeze hasn't repented. Maybe that's true, but I don't know how you can be so sure.

I’d do a backflip if Meyer was hired. I like winning NCs

What have I taken out of context. Trust me
You don’t want to go down a Biblical theological discussion with me. I’ll bury you. Biblical theology is right ahead of Politics and Auburn sports on interest for me.

So point out where I bastardized the gospel? Or bible

I'll talk myself into any hire as long as it's not just a complete disaster right from the jump.

And as I stated twice what I said wasn’t in defense of Freeze or any coach in reality but AUjim wanted to use his world view as a basis of what Christians should or shouldn’t do.

It was a simple discussion topic to gauge where the fanbase is. Will you support the coach that’s hired or not?

I take it from the posters that’s a no. Was just wondering

Not comparing your judgement to his. What I’m saying is you believed in and supported Harsin and that turned out to be a bad call. But, you have already made your mind up about Freeze before he is even named coach.

The only remotely realistic hire I wouldn't support would be Steele. Because of what all went down with him last year. Just bad taste.

Someone like Grimes I'd roll my eyes when I heard the news but by August I'd be all in.

Ever thought of living out the parts about humility? The Pharisees had incredible knowledge of the law.

I made my mind up about Freeze because of his consistent pattern of extremely poor decision making skills, leading to actions that cost his school millions of dollars.

There are plenty of potential HCs out there who are at his talent level who don't have those black marks on their resume. I would prefer we go after those instead of Freeze.

Its fine that some of you are willing to completely take scripture out of context and reference some bastardized version of your perception of the 'redemption story' to justify blind support of your Saturday idols. I'm just not one of them.

I wouldn't hire him to lead my ministry, but I would hire him to lead an organization responsible for sports entertainment where winning games is THE priority.

Sure. I’ll admit humility isn’t my strong point. I can be an a-hole at times as well.

But I know the redemption story that Jesus provides us all. Regardless of the sin. If you don’t believe that then you aren’t a Christian. And if you have an unforgiving spirit it’s the same as my lack of humility. Like I mentioned we are all sinners. We sin daily.
