And you know this? Because he doesn't even know if he will declare, or at the very least hasn't announced it yet. If he comes back, Oregon will be a top team and he said when he signed as a hometown kid that he wanted to win a championship. Next season will be his best bet.

Next year's QB class is much deeper than this one, it makes sense for him to jump early, but no it isn't guaranteed.

don't understand how most schools that have high caliber players in their hometown keep them, while it seems like we try not to recruit Auburn high school...

It's not that we don't, we just suck at signing them for some reason.

The buyout to make him walk will go down year after year that he’s here.

No it does not. That buyout just turns into salary paid to him. We owe him 75% of $49 million no matter how we pay it.

Well yeah. Problem is if we give it to him by buyout, that means we are also going to have to pay for another staff. If we fired him after next season we would owe him 75% of the total remaining money. Which would be a smaller number than 32 million if we fired him right now. Maybe making hiring another staff little more reasonable.

Bolded teams are our wins. Let's say we get lucky and upset one more team.

You guys happy with a 3-5 record in the SEC? 6-6 overall?

Or the more likely 2-6 SEC and 5-7 overall?

If Auburn opens up losing to Oregon and TAMU, this board will fire him.
