The 4th one is really bad for the LBer too. I think it is Woodyard. Dude just stands there bouncing and let's at least 2 guys run right by him without so much as laying a hand on them. Do they not teach to try and jam that TE or H-back so he doesn't get a free release? Chipping that man does 2 things: He isnt running full speed when he gets close to the safety and it disrupts the timing with the QB
I hope those were 2nd 3rd stringers. Why was #26 tasked with guarding (chasing, really) the inside WR? with no help from the deep guy? surely this was a bust.

Clipping them or something would be fine, but it appears he was spying the QB. So, he was doing his job there, but I agree adding some discomfort while someone comes right in front of you would have helped and wouldn't have gotten him out of position for his assignment.

We were in man and the safety was over the top on it, looks like #26 just got beat. Not sure if there was a blown assignment on his part thinking he had an outside guy and then tried to catch up to the inside guy or what, hard to tell with the angle we see, but he just got beat.

Was Charles Kelly that much of a difference maker?
I think he must’ve been. TJ Rushing was largely a special teams player in the NFL and I’m not sure if he knows how to properly coach safeties. It is clear in the first three games that safety play has been our Achilles heel.

Easy to see…..freshmen and redshirt freshmen.
They have to grow up.

Through 4 games we have learned JA is not good enough to get it done in big games in the SEC. The holding the ball too long that some of us were calling out heading into the game proved costly but even more so was the inaccuracy on the deep balls. He is what he is and AU will continue struggle in the bottom half of the league until we get some f'n coaches that can secure a QB that can throw with accuracy and fix this pathetic special teams unit.
On the bright side, at least we have 9 National Championships.
