I worked for a vet in Mobile during high school. The head doc took me to lunch one day (which wasn't a normal occurrence). At the end of lunch, he said "name redacted, you can help me with an autopsy when we get back right?". Rhetorical question of course. Went to the operating room, the dog was already laid out...and it was my next door neighbor/classmates greyhound. That was messed up...I had played with that dog less than a day prior

So yeah, stay away from my dog (unless I need you)

They are deep. Red and eat pretty good. But I think you can only keep them in July and August in Fla. now

That is the full extent of my knowledge

Seriously. I have been a few times but know jack shite about fishing off the coast

What do you need to know about it. I've fished snapper every summer for the past 15+ years.

Good thread...only reason I asked to be invited. Like to see what other AU grads do. I know nothing about football.

Don't really know what my job is. Work in a plastic factory. Have a sweet office and get taken out to lunch often. 3 times/wk is my record.

Looking forward to giving my uninformed opinion about ball.

I can tell about either cause I am very experienced in both species!

Well a buddy of mine wants to come down later in the year and talks of red snapper fishing has taken place. But looks like we will have to charter a boat if we want to fish any.

Where would you be fishing out of? You don't have to go out very far in the Gulf to get them...tons out by the rigs. I think the season re-opens October 1st. Not sure if the close has been set yet, but it'll probably be 3-4 weeks. If you can get a group of 5-6, chartering can be decently reasonable (especially since the fall is the offseason for them.) They'll make sure y'all each hit the 2 limit on snapper, then you can get something with more fight (amberjack, grouper, etc.) I know a couple of captains across the gulf coast so depending where you fish out of, I can recommendation a charter for you.
