Apparently, NFL experts think he has T-Rex arms.

espn has Roger as 45th ranked prospect.

Pre-Draft Analysis
McCreary is sticky with quick feet, impressive body control and good short-area burst. He fits best in a defense that features heavy press-man and/or Cover-3 press-zone. He primarily played on the outside at Auburn, but he has experience playing over the slot and might fit best there in the NFL, considering his average size and short arms. McCreary needs to be more physical and aggressive in run support. -- Steve Muench

Been meaning to start this thread, I don't keep up with all the draft stuff but I was wondering what happened from the Iron Bowl until the draft. He seemed like he was getting a lot of 1st round buzz and now it seems like late second maybe third.

Did he not perform well at the combine?

Should have played in the bowl game.

He has physical limitations, period. Nothing he can do about that.

His perceived upside is lower than the guys that went before him. The CB position in the NFL in very dependent on outright physical talent. He will still go in the 2nd round and should be a solid NFL corner.

The guys that went before him are all either taller, faster, longer, or all three of those things. He ran a 4.5 at 5'11 with very short arms.

Here are is a 360 degree view of Mcreary and you can really see the short arm issue, but he will make a solid corner.

Seems like he and Stingley were the complete opposite.

Roger had good tape against good competition just didn't measure up physically. Stingley has elite measurable a with bade film.

I will acknowledge my bias, but watching them both a lot over the course of their college careers, McCreary is a better CB now, but Stingley may have the higher upside if he can stay healthy. He's a freak athlete among freak athletes as far as pro CBs go.
