Totally agree, I found out underwhelming. That Wake n' Bake, though....

Dos Equis now, wash it down with some gin and tonic later.

Battlefield IPA is solid.
My fav of the bama brews is Straight to Ale Monkeynaught, Freckle Belly, and Trim Tab. Good People is prob my least fav.

On pre deployment leave in my hometown buffalo, ny. Hit an Irish pub for some wings and local microbrews, now hitting the Knob Creek with the debate on.
Edit: question from Facebook in the debate, guy had a bama hat on

It would really be hard for me to pick an IPA that's better to be honest.

Cahaba Brewing has the best IPA hands down. It's only available on tap currently.

Birmingham IPA's: (all are good)
Cahaba's oka uba
Good People's IPA
Trim Tab IPA
Avondale's Battlefield (thought Mr Todd's was pretty bad)
Avondale is a funny little place. The owners are suing eachother and the brewery is more focused on being a venue than producing great beer. That being said, I'll be in birmingham in the fall and they're the only birmingham brewer that brews a pumpkin ale that I know of. Props to that
Currently I've got Dogfish head's Indian Brown in my glass

You are such a nonconformist.
Good People's Snake Handler is one of the best beers in the South.

Back in the day (4 months I worked in B'ham in 2009) Good people brewed snake handler in the 11%-13% range when they upped the ABV law. It was lethal

Damn, would have liked to try it

No I just like things that taste good. Not a glass of bitter beer that take forever to drink.
I'll take your word on that. Good People have gotten the only $5 they will ever get from me.
