I take it back. Only 3 guys have us outside the top 2. Guess the difference between 1 and 2 really is that small regardless. Newell, Wilner, and Klee. When it's always the same ones year after year, they just like negative attention, but Newell was the only one with us outside the top 3. When I have time later, I want to organize that #1 SEC list by year.

Amazing what Bruce has accomplished at Auburn University. Basketball was always an afterthought. Now i cant help but rewatch game highlights and cheer on our tigers every televised game. Feels good man

It is extremely tough to win a championship in basketball. An elite 8 is hard enough to get to. Duke always has a top squad and has only won 5 ever and 1 in the last 10 years.

It’s great that we have brought previous casual or football only auburn fans on the basketball bandwagon. Genuinely glad to see the additional excitement. But their reaction is gonna suck if we lose in the s16 or earlier.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m also at a point where I’ll be disappointed if this team doesn’t at least reach the elite 8. But that’s cause I think this team is genuinely special and teams like this don’t come around often so I hope we can take advantage. But if we did get upset earlier, it certainly wouldn’t change my opinion of Bruce Pearl.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m also at a point where I’ll be disappointed if this team doesn’t at least reach the elite 8. But that’s cause I think this team is genuinely special and teams like this don’t come around often so I hope we can take advantage. But if we did get upset earlier, it certainly wouldn’t change my opinion of Bruce Pearl.

As one of those football fans who started following shooty hoops in 2016 or so, my expectations of Bruce have always been to make us a regular tourney invitee. Tourney runs take lot of skill and some luck. We could get bounced earlier than expected this year I will still maintain Bruce needs a lifetime contract and a statue outside of Pearl Arena for what he’s done to the program. I was in school during the Jeff Lebo days…could park right next to coliseum and walk right in and have a section of Beard-Eaves to yourself. We’re now proving to be a premier bball program and job in the country - nothing short of amazing

I don’t think fans will be disappointed in the way you’re thinking. I may have not been very involved with AU BB but I and I’m sure others are very familiar with BB and have watched the March madness a lot. I have even been to a weekend of tourney games at the Pepsi center in Denver.
I understand, and I’m sure others as well, how difficult it is to advance through the tourney. I have seen plenty of high seeds make an early exit.
Disappointed for the team, coaches, and our school, but not calling for heads, or badmouthing disappointed. It would take a freak not to be supporting the team and watching them this season, I haven’t missed a game yet, and not feel disappointed should they not make a deep run.
Getting to the elite 8 and final four is a major accomplishment. Hell, making it to the sweet 16 is big in my book. I think our fans in general will not be flipping out and melting. I hope we don’t have to find out.

Objectively, I think that this team is better than the 19 team. But that 19 team hit a low point with the loss to UK, and then turned it around and went on a tear that lasted up until Ty Jerome Double Dribbled.
Which is a very common thing lately it seems. The amount of 11 seeds that have made the Final 4 lately is indicative of a couple of things to me: that the committee is seeding some teams lower/higher than they should be, and that if you get hot at the right time, then you can go deep.
Just making it to the Elite 8 in 19 was a major accomplishment, and if we do the same this year, that's amazing again.
But I do want more. #peacock
