On to GA State. Thankfully we get another tune up game with McClain being ejected and guys banged up. Anyone heard anything on Pappoe? I don’t think he came back in the second half.

Really curious to see what we work on this week. I know we will walk all over GA State, but still want to see what they focus on during the game.

This game is a joke again. It wont help us other than letting McClain sit in a game that doesnt matter. We really could use this game later in the season to break up the run of hard games.

Having to play against that offense now is just a waste. I think it would be better for this team to come home and play someone with a pulse. Its obvious that playing grade 13 schools has not prepared us for the harder games. Just false confidence for the players and fans

Id rather see us step in JH and play someone with a pulse

I'd be fine with just playing back ups starting in the second quarter

Rest everyone for Lsu

That helps the depth some but not much. Not like they are going to face that type of offense the rest of the year.

I guess this is beneficial but its only game 4 and the starters only played half the first two games.

It would be nice to have this game, as we have in the past, late in the season.

That LSU game is going to be a critical one for us. If we are to get to 7 or 8 wins, I believe we must win that game. For confidence if nothing else. They may be about the same level we are and its a good time to win there. Would really give us a boost against other possible teams like Arkansas and Texas AM

I think this week will be very enlightening.

In the past (and I’m not talking just the recent past) we have had a tendency to sleepwalk through our “letdown” games following a loss - even occasionally following a big win. The game’s outcome is rarely in doubt, but we often play poorly and have trouble putting teams away (Mercer the week after the road loss to Clemson in ‘17 is a good example, but there are many others).

I’m hopeful that we come out sharp and focused against GSU. I’ve always been of the opinion that this is a year to rebuild the program from the ground up, and will subsequently have some ups and downs. But despite some obvious holes, we are definitely capable of improving every week.

This is the first opportunity to see if this staff can learn from its mistakes and pass that on to the players. We shall see.
