Too bad it was paired with the worst defense any of us will ever see at Auburn, or we’d be still living off of back to back NCs in 2013 and 2014.

Sad but true. I’d buy a beer for Marshall, Prosch, Mason, Coates, Louis, and even Gus for getting to watch that. That was straight running game porn turned into basketball on grass or some shite and was beautiful.

Sadly
Tune into the Liberty game. Now remember that QB was on our roster. Now imagine him with our line, and our backs. Holy shite!

I can finally understand how Urban Meyer felt when #2 was prowling the Plains.

Nostalgia turning to pain now. I don’t remember who whiffed on that play. It’s best that I not remember for the player’s sake.

Obamanu’s drop against Ole Miss still haunts me after all.

What was so bad about it was, the CB had him wrapped up. Ryan Smith came barreling in and knocked him off of the WR. Let the pain flow…

I can’t explain the EXTREME makeover but he was dog shite in Auburn. The safety and his problems with the RPO has already been brought up here. But many times it seemed like he took the snap was too excited to even make a read. He mainly just kept the ball himself because the ball was in his hands and he had fo go!!!

I was at the Natty game in Pasadena. The thing people don't remember, that was key....Parkey wasn't kicking out of the endzone after we scored. Something he did all year, every game. FSU had that HUGE return, that set them up for the go ahead TD. That's was the play that literally let us snatch victory.

Jonathon Joseph coming up lame on that KR for a touchdown certainly was extra bad voodoo on top of all of that. It was strange how that game played out. Jimbo called a spectacular fake punt and then all three units let FSU back into the game. Our defense didn’t seem to harass Winston as much in the second half. Our offense bogged down. Kickoff team struggles. And then finally the offense kicked into gear like we knew we could after we got Jernigan dog piss tired. But then the defense just let it slip. Personally I think we had some athletes play above their skill sets and they came back down to earth that night. Our good juju had run out.

Agreed for the most part, but if Parkey would have kicked off out of the endzone, no short field for Winston and Jimbo to work with late in the game. There's the difference.

I’ve seen him play two or three times. He has been very productive. His passing game isn’t strong by any stretch of the imagination though. He plays for Liberty and this game was against Syracuse. That has to be factored in right? He is surrounded by completely different talent. Yeah he is better than the Auburn Willis but just for the record I’m not buying the first round hype. He won’t make it in the league.

Watching the Virginia highlights reminds me of another example of different talent. When we played Virginia it looked like every player was bigger yet couple steps faster than theirs. Mccallebb probably five steps faster.

Nick Marshall was a wizard and will never be rivaled in Auburn lore. He gave us some of the best memories and performances we will likely ever see from an Auburn QB, and I’m not exaggerating. The cherry on top is that he really came out of nowhere after the tragedy that was 2012. So that makes him even more special in my eyes at least - he and Tre led the redemption of that 2013 season.

Malik never got a fair shake at Auburn but he’s certainly grown into his own at Liberty under Freeze. PFF had him going #1 in a mock draft last summer. I know it’s just a mock draft but the fact they’re putting him that high at all says something.

Timeline wise it was tough for his freshman and sophomore seasons since Stidham was the clear starter there. I don’t think he was given a fair shot against Bo, unfortunately. I think IF he had been given a fair shot, the posibarner in me would like to think he could’ve become something like a Nick Marshall Jr. but I don’t know if Gus could have developed him into that. He definitely didn’t develop Nick into anything, he just knew how to freaking ball man.
