Agreed. We wasted some serious talent at WR this year. Imagine what good coaching would have done with this bunch.

Imagine if “talented” players caught passes that hit them in the hands. Would have at least one or two more wins.

Interesting. Very well explained even for some of us that dont know the inner workings of these offenses.

Seems like the QB is going to be very important, duh, and need to be able to cycle through the choices fairly fast. First the RPO part then the routes. Needs protection.

The fact that they spread out the field so much may slow down the blitzing of the QB as well. As well as make the run game a little easier by taking the secondary out of the run coverage.

IF I were a receiver, Id be excited about playing in that system

Something I actually did know.

You can really notice it on field goals. Plus the weak side is much "weaker" in college..

Probably the biggest drawback to this offense is NFL scouts will hate evaluating QBs and WRs from this offense. He brought up Corey Coleman from Baylor but Tennessee has had receivers Jalin Hyatt and Donte Thrornton dive headfirst into bust conversations because they dont know how to run routes.

Makes sense. In a way, its like the offensive linemen on Gus's offense.

I would think QBs could show off the ability to make strong throws in this offense but since the system is so different, they would be basically starting over in the NFL system

The question is out there. Can Duece run this kind of offense?

If and when Auburn has success with this offense look for a rule change to try and make the field like the NFL.

Jennings & Keyton say hello

I can understand the dilemma but running routes isn't that hard. It just takes practice & just like any other profession you need to work on your tools outside of what you are being trained to do.

This guy is speaking my language about the offense that Golesh runs. I’ve been begging Freeze for 3 years to spread the defense out to be able to run da bawl easier. Running bunch sets with shitty TEs that don’t block and can’t catch does no good.

Jville that was a good podcast. It was mentioned in one of his podcasts that it made sense why he wanted DJ Broughton. If you look at his HS, he can catch, but the team also ran a lot of screens etc. where the TE has to block in space and he did that well. He would be a great fit in this offense.
