I am not happy he is putting zero legitimacy on the wins column. I still dont see any alternatives to Freeze that keeps our early source of hope- recruiting intact. I can name a handful of players that are performing well, and if they left, our program would have no better outlook than 2022. That is how close we are to moving forward and how close we are to staying in a deep hole. Freeze has three years left on the contract? He has to make a move soon in the wins column or he is gone anyway. Or he can flirt with disaster some more and he can lose his players and recruits anyway and I'll be right there with you. So now I am waiting and hoping Freeze does enough to keep his racket going.

Firing freeze would take all his recruits away with him and kill us for at least 3 more years cementing is as the next Tennessee, we have to see where we are in year 3, this year was meant to suck, he shouldn't gone for cam ward

Correct. Freeze gets 5 years in my opinion. Talk of firing is utterly ridiculous

Honest question. Does it take less time to build a program in the NIL world?

Hire a hot coach, promise playing time, throw nil money, see what happens?

Maybe. NIL might be why Freeze's help us win pitch.

Consider this:
An 0-10 NFL star isnt cashed out because he is playing for checks. He might want a trade, but until then he has to go to work. Sometimes you can see the most obscene rosters steal a win week 11 or so because of that. Does that mean our players continue playing hard for future NIL earnings? I think so. I also think the younger players see the opportunity around them.

Dear god.

The literal only thing going well for him right now is HS recruiting. Year #3 will completely dictate whether that momentum will continue or not.

You only have a very limited number of "well we're losing games because we're building" excuses with recruits. That song and dance will blow away like a fart in the wind in year #3 if we don't start seeing serious turnaround on the field.

Year #4 is not guaranteed at all - forget year #5. Lets pretend we win 4 games this season. If he wins 6 games next season, his recruiting WILL be drastically affected - at which point he's not winning games, players are transferring out, and HS recruits are over it. Now what? What is going to change in year #5?

You will know at the end of next season whether he is AU's coach, or not. Its not going to take 5 years to figure that out, I promise.

Freeze is a 55 year old man throwing a 23 year old player under the buss. Mind you, Freeze is Thorne’s coach therefore he is responsible for teaching him and helping him improve. His poor play should reflect on the level of coaching received.

Did y’all see them on the sideline after this where freeze was passive aggressively shaking his head in “disbelief” where he knew Thorne would see him? These two responses tell me all I need to know about CHF’s quality of leadership. Yeah we all know PT has played average at best and has made plenty of mistakes. But the coach needs to start acting like a leader instead of making excuses and blaming these 18-23 year old young men. We’re a season and a half into his tenure and I’m already tired of his crap. Grow up and take responsibility for your failure to coach up the players you picked.

Unfortunately we are stuck with him. If we fire him too soon, nobody worth having is going to want to come coach AU. Maybe Lashee, which would be such an Auburn move. But even he’s probably too smart to come back.
