Those guys obsession with us is so weird. It’s like an LSU/Bama obsession, the weird thing about it is Malzahn was never their HC.

IMO it began when they made a play for Gus in 2012 and he was locked in on returning to Auburn. Getting Bert helped ease that pain and gave them cover that Gus didn't choose us over them. In 2012 many believed arkie and Auburn were similar jobs to "some" degree. Since that fateful moment and Bert's butthurt over being 2nd choice to a coaching style he didn't respect we now have the weird obsession of the arkie fan to Auburn. I still think it is insane that anyone, Leith, really thought Gus would go to arkie in 2017.

They were coming off the Petrino years where people saw some sustained success and those same people still were chalking Auburn's title up to Cam.
