Coaching searches are crazy... I had some inside info about JJ staying, TJ being re-assigned, and Chizik being fired.(yes I missed the actual date, but that was just a change in the announcement date).. On the coaching search, I HAVE ZERO inside information.. But from other sources, work down the list this way:
Fisher: No real negatives, consensus pick. He will have to tell us no (Sunday or Monday)
Petrino: Contract includes a blond and a Harley. Some boosters do not want, but if Sullivan and Bo give an endorsement, then he will be accepted (look for Brother Chette to be nearby)
Smart: Dye's choice (I do NOT want) PM felt he would be above Petrino, but some believe he is too big a risk because he has never been a head coach, plus it is part of the power struggle that want Dye's influence reduced .
Malzahn: Part of the discipline problem (especially with Dyer).. Too close to the Chizik Regime... (Some have him higher).
If we go beyond that list, I will be surprised.

Based on Jays statement. He said they are going to hire some one with a proven track record. Not sure you can see Kirby has proved anything as a HC at least.
