1) Chizik & Jacobs are staying
2) Petrino as OC
3) Rocker's coming back
4) Jackson is as dead as a door nail

"Unexpected involvement" caused the change of plans.

I'm not sure but I think I'd fap to that. I wanted Petrino as OC. If this happened and we retained BVG, GOAT staff in the making.

That was my first though too

Petrino as OC and BVG as DC?

We're the goddamn Atlanta Falcons.

The problem is chizik is a bad head coach. And that wouldn't last long at all. Just delay the inevitable.

Not too many coaching staffs last that long. 3 years from that staff we are going to the ship.

Right but it's evident Chiz does not have a great philosophy as a head coach and has no developmental/discipline program in place. A great head coach can move on after losing assistants and don't miss a beat. Chiz defenses as HC have been the worst in AU history. His offenses were the best and worst in AU history.

I don't see anything new from PM about Petrino.

This isn't new, but interesting:
quote:

Petrino and Chizik have been, for sometime, represented by the same agent - Russ Campbell of Birmingham. Campbell clearly could not entertain even informal talks about the Auburn job as long as Chizik remains employed. Petrino has now fired Campbell and, we are told, is in the Auburn picture more than ever. There is no question Auburn is the job Petrino wants above all others.
We will find some way to frick this up.

The way we frick that up is if we hire him.

No, he's actually a good coach. I don't care if he has baggage. At least he knows how to win and development talent.

CBMFP is the best college football coach available right now. I don't think there is any argument against that. Given our current state of affairs, I'd be willing to take a risk on his baggage. Hell, we got baggage too!
